The birth of i LIKE that™


How did  i LIKE that™ get started? David Grier, owner of the Oude Welgemoed Restaurant and Master Chef expressed his passion of one day starting a range of products to Riaan Vorster, who was working part time at the restaurant whilst studying at Stellenbosch University. During subsequent conversations the idea started taking shape and i LIKE that™ was born. David formulated the concepts for the products and both worked at developing the product to the production stage. The products went on the market in 2003 and were  instant hits. Very soon the limited manufacturing facility was inadequate. Theo Nel stepped in and offered his production facility at Le Cap Foods.


Today they are a formidable team of conceptualising, developing an manufacturing gourmet products for the discerning customer.
Riaan's entrepreneurial skill have added a new dimension to i LIKE that™ by expanding the business to include marketing and distribution of gourmet products for other select companies and the manufacture of private label products for third party customers.


i LIKE that™ has also ventured into the tourism industry by presenting the i LIKE that™ Wine Experience


The company has expanded into the international market and currently i LIKE that™ products can be found on the shelves of retail outlets in the Nethelands, Portugal,Finland, Sweden and Switzerland. Negotiations are currently underway to expand to the United States, Germany, Australia and Ireland.
